hidden gem – wigmore street no. 64 -66
new office building designed by ESA for Howard de Walden Estate in Marylebone has been open for tenants. being part of technical team and with particular focus on external envelope, I spend more than two years working on this scheme.
located on very tight inner city site, it comprises of two stories basement floors and five stories above ground level of contemporary office accommodation with an extensive, deep atrium.
the type of construction, restrained side conditions and daylight rights were factors which created terraced shape with light external envelope to maximize floor plate size and provide adequate daylight level.
